Landscape Pinhole photos

I have been experimenting with pinhole photography for the last 2 years or so. I like the ultimate analogue nature of it, and putting them up here is kind of a contradiction to the ideas I have about the objects they are. The aspect ratio of the pictures is very much not digital/social media friendly, and although it may seem at the instance that it is just being contrary, it has pragmatism at the core. I was brought up watching 'old dusters' as my mother calls them, by John Ford, Howard Hawks, and William Wyler. In these movies, I saw a focus on the expanse of the west and of the landscape. I thought I could reproduce this glimmer of awe and a slower viewing of the subject.

I was thinking about designing a pinhole camera, and was looking at the paper format, looking at how light spreads through the pinhole, and back again... thinking of how I could economically make these long formatted images utilizing as much of the paper as I could. The paper comes 8 x 10 so I settled on 2 x 8... giving me 5 images per sheet of paper.

I have figured out how to reverse the negative image developed onto the paper chemically thanks to CAMERADACTYL Cameras Jo Van Cleave. Their videos are below.

I'm not really sure where I'm going with these, but I thought I should record my process in a way, and show people what I'm up to besides making and teaching ceramics.
