I thought I would put some of the technical investigations I’ve made over the years.  Technical is a stretch, but I have somehow found myself going down very niche rabbit holes of glaze, surface, decorating, and making techniques.  I hope that other makers can glean something from these demos and recipes to boost confidence in their own investigations, and provide starting points.

I did not start from scratch, and if possible, I will give credit to the people I was looking at when I started.  Some of the videos are a bit dated, but I hope still provide the toolsets for the techniques.

As always, if there are any questions, or need advice, please feel free to get in touch with me.

Underglaze Silkscreen transfers

Here you can find a series of videos taken in the Adam Pottery in Edinburgh.  The video is 10 years old now, but I hope that it can help people venturing in this direction.  I hope that through this video, other makers can see that it is an approachable technique, and can give some pretty impressive results without a lot of kit.

Drawing Screw Threads in CAD

Here I am explaining my methods of creating screw threads in slip cast ceramic.  I am Using Autodesk Fusion 360 to draw out the moulds, and my Ender 3 3D printer to print them out.  I’m haven’t finished the whole demo, but a few of the videos can be found here.
